Premier League

The world’s most-watched league puts players to the test over the Festive Period with teams often playing a number of fixtures in the league. In addition to this, the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup take place over this period as well as the third round of the FA Cup. Let’s take a look at the number of fixtures a middling team like Burnley will be involved in over the 2019/20 Festive Season (Being the start of December through to 11 January):

Burnley vs Man City – 03 Dec
Tottenham vs Burnley – 07 Dec
Burnley vs Newcastle – 14 Dec
Bournemouth vs Burnley – 21 Dec
Everton vs Burnley – 26 Dec
Burnley vs Man United – 28 Dec
Burnley vs Aston Villa – 01 Jan
Burnley vs Peterborough – 04 Jan (FA Cup 3rd round)
Chelsea vs Burnley – 11 Jan

As you can see, there are plenty of EPL fixtures taking place over December and early January – all of which are televised on satellite TV. This is a great league when it comes to sports betting too, especially when you consider just how much data and information is available online to help you study your form!

Although there is a small break in the 2019/20 PSL between 22 December and 3 January, there are plenty of games taking place in South Africa’s top-flight over the festive season.

Check out all of the PSL matches that Cape Town City will be playing throughout the Festive Season:

Cape Town City vs Chippa United – 07 Dec
Wits vs Cape Town City – 20 Dec
Cape Town City vs Baroka – 05 Jan
Cape Town City vs AmaZulu – 08 Dec
Kaizer Chiefs vs Cape Town City – 12 Jan

The Football League

The Football League is made up of the EFL Championship, League One and League Two. These lower English divisions are absolute minefields when it comes to betting, with upsets taking place pretty regularly! With that being said, there is plenty of value floating around in these leagues if you’re willing to do the studying!

Keep in mind, however, that the lack of undersoil heating in these divisions means that games can be called off temperatures dip below 0 and pitches freeze. This, of course, isn’t an issue in the Premier League where most clubs have under-pitch heating. Let’s take a look at Blackburn Rovers – a middling Championship team’s fixtures between 1 December and 11 January:

Blackburn vs Derby – 07 Dec
Swansea vs Blackburn – 11 Dec
Bristol vs Blackburn – 14 Dec
Blackburn vs Wigan – 23 Dec
Blackburn vs Birmingham – 26 Dec
Huddersfield vs Blackburn – 29 Dec
Nottingham Forest vs Blackburn – 01 Jan
Birmingham vs Blackburn – 04 Jan
Blackburn vs Preston – 11 Jan

So, as you can see with our Festive Season Soccer Guide, there are plenty of games to bet on while some of the bigger European Leagues go on break!
